If you were a colleague of her's, I am sorry for your loss. According to the news, she died doing what she loved... however, I'm also trying to do die doing what I love which is topical cartoons.
It's topical, but it is is way too soon, just like the greedy idiots at SeaWorld have the shows back on too soon. It's less her fault than it is the directors and owners who make them perform with a stud animal that's already caused three deaths. I love your cartoons, but this one is really not edgy - and it absolves the real culprits.
No such thing as too soon with something like this. Although it's awful, it's proven before that incidents like this don't have very good lasting power and it's already taken a backseat to the Chilean earthquake. You sit and wait, the joke will pass quickly.
